Marcia Silverman Minority Student Award

About: The Marcia Silverman minority student scholarship is awarded to a student of African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American, Alaskan Native or Pacific Islander descent entering their senior year of college.

The scholarship is awarded to one recipient with an amount of $5,000.

Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in a public relations or journalism program and preparing for a career in the field. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to apply for the scholarship.

Applications will be reviewed based on leadership, academic achievements, experience in the field, writing skills and commitment to the public relations field.

When applying for this scholarship applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed application
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member or PRSSA Adviser (no more than two pages)
  • One page resume
  • No more than two additional letters of recommendation

Application and additional materials must be submitted by May 27, 2016.
